Gavina finished the year with an impressive .402 batting average while appearing in 47 games, collecting 70 hits, 54 runs scored, and 34 RBIs. He also tallied 14 doubles, two triples, and three home runs while posting a stellar .486 on-base percentage and .557 slugging percentage. His ability to consistently get on base and create offense made him one of the toughest outs in the conference.

When conference play intensified, Gavina elevated his game even further, batting .419 against league opponents with 52 hits and 33 runs scored in 29 conference games. He also added eight stolen bases on the season, showcasing his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.

At shortstop, Gavina anchored the Greyhound defense with steady play and reliability throughout the season. He recorded 116 assists, helped turn 15 double plays, and finished with a .957 fielding percentage while serving as a leader in the infield.
