The Greyhound Volleyball team proved multiple times over the weekend that they'll be a tough out all season long with an impressive 3-1 weekend in Norfolk, NE which included wins against #7 Kirkwood and #15 Northeast Nebraska.
"We played really well on Friday night versus Northeast Nebraska, I was excited for the level in which we played", said head coach Lindsay Hill. "It shows that this team could be very good once we get more consistency."
The Greyhounds (8-1) also defeated Iowa Lakes and lost their first match of the season to #9 Central Nebraska.
The Iowa Lakes and N.E. matches were three game sweeps, they rallied for a five set win over Kirkwood before losing to Central in the finale.
"This team showed a lot of heart in our match versus #7 Kirkwood," said Hill. "We were down 2 sets and they came back and fought for every point to win that match, I was very proud of them."
The Greyhounds have only lost five sets in nine matches this season and have already put together six sweeps. Sophomore Megan Turner leads the team with 105 kills averaging over three kills per set. Sophomore Hanna White leads the Greyhounds averaging over seven assists per set and sophomore Katie Gorman has compiled over 240 digs averaging over seven digs per set.
