Volleyball Stays Unbeaten with Sweep Over Independence

The Greyhound Volleyball team continued its strong start to the season, improving to 5-0, 1-0 with a sweep over Independence 25-13, 25-16 and 25-17 on Wednesday night at Arnold Arena.

"It is great to get our first conference match win, and being at home is even better", said head coach Lindsay Hill.

Katie Gorman led the Greyhounds in the sweep with 28 digs and Megan Turner had eight kills. It was good experience for a good portion of the roster as 13 players saw the floor at some point during the match.

"Our focus tonight was fundamental skills and I thought the ladies did a good job about staying focused on it".

The Greyhounds will turn the page and head into a difficult weekend at the N.E. Nebraska Tournament in Norfolk as three of the teams they will face are ranked in the top 25. #7 Kirkwood, #9 Central NE, #15 Northeast NE and then they'll also see Iowa Lakes.
